THE BRAND EDIT

Thoughtful, audience-first brand foundations for founders still finding their shape and story

There’s a certain stage of business that is talked about — but rarely explored in any real depth.

You’re past the idea phase, but not fully formed yet. You care deeply about what you’re building, but struggle to articulate it clearly. You feel the pressure to launch, to grow, to market, to be visible — while sensing that something underneath still needs attention.

The Brand Edit exists for this in-between moment — bringing audience-first thinking to the very start of a brand’s journey.

The In-Between Moment

You’re no longer just experimenting — but you’re not fully formed either.

You’re being encouraged to dive straight in. To spend the money. To launch loudly. To make noise before you’ve had the chance to get clear on who you are, what you want to be known for, and what you actually want to talk about.

And while that momentum can be exciting, it often leaves something important unresolved.

What’s Going Wrong

Founders are often too close to what they’re building. They live and breathe it. They’re deeply committed to the product, the idea, the vision.

That closeness is a strength — but it can also make it hard to step back and see the brand as others experience it.

What often hasn’t been fully considered yet is the external perspective: what your audience wants from the brand, how they want to be spoken to, and what will make them feel part of something rather than sold to.

This is where brand becomes a bridge — between internal conviction and external connection..

HOW I THINK ABOUT BRAND

I don’t see brand as something you layer on once everything else is working.

It’s the thinking that quietly shapes how decisions are made - how you show up, what you prioritise, and who you choose to speak to.

When that thinking is undefined, growth can feel frantic. Content feels disconnected. Marketing becomes something to endure rather than to build from.

When it’s clear, there’s a shift.

Decisions feel easier. Messaging feels more natural. You stop trying to be everywhere — and start being recognisable.

Good brands aren’t built by being louder. They’re built by being more intentional. By understanding who they’re for, what they stand for, and how to build a narrative and community that people actively choose to be part of.

I’m Daisy, the founder of Down at the Social - a PR and social media agency built on one clear principle: audience first.

Before campaigns, content or coverage, we focus on defining, locating and truly understanding the audience, how they think, what they respond to, and how they move between the digital and traditional world.

I’ve worked with both big and small brands, helping them connect their story to the people they actually want to reach.

That experience is what I bring into The Brand Edit.

This takes the audience-first thinking I apply to campaigns and brings it right to the beginning, working with founders to shape a brand that makes sense not just internally, but externally too.

This is for: Founders and teams who care deeply about what they’re creating, who want clarity before noise, and who are interested in building something with longevity.

This is not for: Brands focused on short-term sales and quick wins. Businesses launching with private equity backing, large advertising budgets, or a need for immediate scale.

WHAT YOU'LL LEAVE WITH...
  • Clarity on who you are and what you stand for

  • A story you can explain confidently

  • A defined audience and a clearer relationship with them

  • Direction you can actually build from

  • A stronger sense of how to build community around your brand

WHAT THE BRAND EDIT LOOKS LIKE

The Brand Edit runs in small cohorts of 8–10 founders, to allow for thoughtful discussion, meaningful peer learning, and proper attention to each business.

It runs over five months, with five core modules. Each month follows the same rhythm, combining expert insight, practical application and shared thinking.

**Each month includes:**

* A 2-hour expert-led small group session

* A 90-minute working session with me to apply the thinking to your brand

* A 60-minute facilitated peer session with the other founders in the group

Brand Foundations
